Brave boosts Leo AI assistant with real-time search integration for more accurate answers

Brave has upgraded its in-browser AI assistant, Brave, by integrating it with Brave Search, allowing Leo to provide more accurate and up-to-date answers. This integration uses the Brave Search API to incorporate real-time search results, enhancing responses with current information, especially for recent events or topics that may have outdated initial language model training.

With the new 1.67 browser update, desktop users can now access Brave Leo with integrated Brave Search results, while mobile users will receive this feature soon. This real-time data inclusion helps Leo reference current events, such as concerts or sports, and offers updated insights for complex subjects like financial markets. Responses that include search results will also feature links to Brave Search, enabling users to explore further.

Brave Leo can be accessed by typing in the address bar and clicking “Ask Leo” on desktop, or via the sidebar. Mobile users can tap the “…” (iOS) or “⋮” (Android) and then select Leo. Brave emphasizes the importance of verifying information from third-party sources and encourages users to fact-check critical information against authoritative sources. Answers that use Brave Search data are clearly labeled and linked to a search results page for further exploration.
