Rescuezilla 2.5 is based on Ubuntu 24.04 LTS, and brings improved BTRFS support and more
Rescuezilla, the widely used disk cloning and imaging software, has unveiled its 2.5 version, incorporating several enhancements and bug fixes. The new version is built on Ubuntu 24.04 “Noble Numbat”, with alternative builds available on Ubuntu 23.10 “Mantic” and Ubuntu 23.04 “Lunar”.
The update introduces an upgrade to the most recent partclone release, v0.3.27, addressing issues associated with BTRFS filesystems. Additionally, Rescuezilla 2.5 presents an experimental command-line interface, which is currently unstable and only supports images produced by Clonezilla and Rescuezilla.
Furthermore, the release enhances the backup process of Linux MD RAID devices with MBR partition tables. The improved features include the continuation of image scanning post-error and prevention of laptop sleep mode when the lid is closed, among other enhancements.
This is a brilliant, reliable, dependable tool. It has been used here for three pc's for years, with no glitches.
Totally positive experiences....the most important one?....it RESTORES without a murmur.
