Adobe unveils AI-powered Generative Remove and Lens Blur tools for Lightroom

Adobe has introduced a new feature called Generative Remove for Adobe Lightroom, powered by its Firefly AI model. The feature allows users to edit and remove objects from images regardless of the complexity of the background. It can handle complex edits like removing stains, revome people from background, and eliminate unwanted reflections. The feature is now available in early access on Lightroom's mobile, web, and desktop platforms.

Generative Remove lets users "paint" over undesired objects or individuals in photos and remove them with a single click. Unlike Photoshop's Content-Aware Fill, which duplicates nearby pixels, Generative Remove offers three alternatives to replace the removed object, enabling users to choose the most natural-looking option, pretty to how the Generative Fill AI tool from Photoshop works.

Alongside Generative Remove, Adobe has also released an AI-powered Lens Blur tool for all Lightroom users, which can apply different blur effects to any part of a photo with a single click, enhancing the background blur's natural look. Lens Blur functions as a filter, allowing users to apply automated presets or manually tweak parameters to achieve the desired effect.
