Microsoft is trying out adding ads to the Windows 11 Start Menu
Microsoft is currently testing advertisements within the Start menu of Windows 11. These ads will show up in the Recommended section, an area previously used for file recommendations, and will now also suggest apps from the Microsoft Store.
The testing phase is currently confined to Windows Insiders in the Beta Channel in the US, and will not impact commercial devices managed by organizations. Users have the ability to turn off these promotional app ads via the Settings section of Windows 11, although they are enabled by default.
Microsoft's move to incorporate ads in Windows 11 aligns with the company's past ventures include integrating ads into its operating systems, with ads already being a feature of Windows 10. The feedback from Windows testers will help determine if these ads will be included in the final release of Windows 11.

You know what doesn't have ads and is still free any Linux distro. Time to switch.
I though M$ already shoved ads in your face. You mean they are going to shove MORE ads in your face now? Jeeze. How anyone tolerates Windows 10 or 11 I'll never know. If anyone reading this is sick of the M$ nonsense, Linux is free, doesn't spam you with ads, and doesn't spy on you. Just sayin'....
