Flowblade 2.14 launches with USB Jog/Shuttle support, slowmo playback, and editable titles
The open-source video editor, Flowblade, has recently launched version 2.14, introducing numerous features that have been highly requested by users, including editable titles and slowmo playback.
One of the major updates in Flowblade 2.14 is the USB Jog/Shuttle feature, which now supports three devices: Contour Design ShuttlePRO v2, Contour Design ShuttleXpress, and Contour A/V Solutions SpaceShuttle.
The updated version also enhances the functionality of the Titler tool. It now generates Title Media Items, allowing users to create clips on the timeline that can be edited using the Titler. This includes the ability to modify text and all its associated properties.
Flowblade 2.14 introduces several other new features. Firstly, it now allows clip pasting on the Playhead position, a common action pattern in popular video editors. Secondly, it has lifted the previous restrictions on the length of graphics clips, enabling users to drag them to be arbitrarily long. Lastly, it has introduced slow motion playback, which can be accessed using CTRL + Left/Right arrow keys for forward/back playback at 10fps.
Flowblade has also announced that it has almost entirely removed instances of Gtk.Menu, and is planning to port to GTK4 in 2025.
In addition to these updates, Flowblade 2.14 has also updated several filters and added other minor features and bug fixes.
Always good to know about more GPLed alternatives. Thanks!
