Wine 9.4 launches with initial OpenGL support, enhancing Windows app performance on Linux

The latest version of Wine 9.4, now featuring initial OpenGL support in the Wayland driver, has been released. This significant upgrade enhances the compatibility and performance of Windows applications on Linux platforms, broadening the range of Windows-specific applications and games that Linux users can access. This is particularly beneficial for gamers, as it enables both old and new OpenGL games to run more natively on Linux, without sacrificing performance.

Wine 9.4 also includes an upgrade to VKD3D version 1.11, which improves graphics performance for compatible applications. Other enhancements include improved process privilege elevation and HID pointer support, leading to better compatibility and user experience.

The release also rectifies 25 bugs for enhanced stability and reliability across applications. Wine 9.4 is available for download from the project's GitLab page, and users are urged to provide feedback for future improvements.
