Twitch introduces shared viewership to combine view counts during collaborative streams
Twitch has announced a new feature called Shared Viewership to enhance collaborative streaming by combining view counts from joint streams. To qualify, streamers must engage in live content creation together and enable Shared Chat for interactive engagement between audiences.
Shared Viewership introduces a metric reflecting total unique concurrent viewers across participating channels, influencing stream rankings within Twitch's discovery features. Post-stream analytics will be provided to offer creators insights into the reach and impact of their collaborations.
Shared Viewership will automatically activate for channels in Stream Together sessions with Shared Chat enabled, without affecting individual viewership metrics, the Path to Partner program, or ad visibility metrics, maintaining fairness in monetization. Twitch will enforce guidelines for using Shared Viewership, with potential restrictions for repeated violations.
