OpenAI launches ChatGPT Projects, a new organizational tool for your AI Chats and Files

OpenAI has introduced ChatGPT Projects, a new tool aimed at improving the organization of custom data, conversations, coding, and custom GPTs. ChatGPT Projects allow users to consolidate chats and related materials into a single, accessible space, where users can customize each Project with a title, folder color, and relevant files, along with specific instructions to tailor ChatGPT's assistance, supporting the inclusion of previous chats for efficient navigation.

The tool is designed to enhance the ChatGPT experience by providing a centralized workspace, making it easier to resume work and find specific information. Projects offer flexibility by operating with or without core ChatGPT functions and support context-aware responses, enabling ChatGPT to use Project content for more accurate answers.

Initially available to Plus, Pro, and Teams users, the rollout will soon extend to free users, with Enterprise and Education users expected to gain access early next year.
