Google's Bard AI set for extension support and free plugins on the horizon
Google Gemini AI, initially released without plugin support, is set to receive significant upgrades. The announcement was made at Google I/O 2023, where plans to introduce extension support for Bard AI were unveiled.
A leaked user interface (UI) signals the development of an "early preview" of Bard's Extensions capability. Although not fully operational yet, the leak suggests a preview release is on the horizon.
The leaked UI revealed nine extensions that are likely to be available at launch, including Instacart, KAYAK, Google Maps, Google Flights, Google Travel, OpenTable, Zillow, YouTube, and Redfin. These extensions aim to enhance Bard AI's capabilities, similar to how plugins work for ChatGPT, but unlike this one, Google may offer these extensions free of subscription, potentially enhancing Bard AI's usability and functionality.
