Bing Chat expands to Chrome and Safari browsers with new Dark Mode feature

Microsoft's Microsoft Copilot has expanded its availability to Google Chrome and Safari web browsers, in addition to its original platform, Microsoft Edge. This follows the recent addition of a dark mode feature to Bing Chat, offering a more viewer-friendly interface. Users can access Bing Chat on their preferred browser by visiting Bing.com, although using Bing Chat on Chrome or Safari does come with some restrictions.

For example, the word prompt limit on these browsers is capped at 2,000 words, compared to the 4,000-word limit on Edge. Furthermore, chatbot conversations will reset after five turns on Chrome and Safari, whereas Edge allows up to 30 turns. Users may also encounter pop-ups urging them to download Edge when using Bing Chat on Chrome or Safari, which could lead some to continue using Bing Chat on Microsoft's native browser.

To activate the dark mode feature in Bing Chat, users can select Appearance Dark or System Default from the hamburger menu in the top-right corner. However, this feature may not be fully available yet, as some users have reported not seeing the option despite its availability to others. Interestingly, users of Google Gemini chatbot on non-Chrome browsers may receive prompts comparing their responses to Bing, potentially encouraging them to use Bing Chat on Edge.
