OpenAI's ChatGPT app for iOS introduces Bing integration for paid subscribers

OpenAI's ChatGPT app for iOS has been making waves since its release in May. They recently announced integration with Siri Shortcuts just a couple of weeks ago, and now the platform has released a new update that brings Bing integration to the mobile app, a highly anticipated feature exclusive to paid subscribers. The integration enables ChatGPT Plus users to enjoy the benefits of the new "Browsing" feature, which merges GPT-4 with the Microsoft Bing search engine. This feature allows ChatGPT to provide users with comprehensive answers and up-to-date insights based on the latest data from Bing, and it overcomes the limitation of ChatGPT's training data up to September 2021, enabling the app to provide knowledge about events and developments beyond that date.

Microsoft's significant investment in OpenAI led to Bing becoming the default search engine for ChatGPT's web version and facilitated the integration of OpenAI's generative AI into Microsoft Edge and Bing. The Bing app for iOS has also recently been updated, incorporating a widget that directs users to the ChatGPT-based Microsoft Copilot

The ChatGPT app is free to download from the App Store and is available in over 40 regions worldwide. However, certain premium features, including the Bing integration, require a ChatGPT Plus subscription, which comes at a cost of $20 per month.
