Google Tasks integration coming to ChromeOS system tray

Google Tasks is a handy service that helps users create and manage their to-do lists and tasks, and it's been around for quite some time. However, one downside of Google Tasks is that accessing it on desktop computers can be challenging. Currently, the only way to access it is through a side panel menu in other Google services like Calendar and Keep. This can make it difficult for users to quickly and easily view and manage their tasks.

Fortunately, Google is working on a solution to this issue. The company is currently developing an integration of Google Tasks into Chrome OS system tray. While the project is still in progress and there is not much information available, it's clear that the integrated Google Tasks will be located in the lower right corner of the screen, working similarly to the Google Calendar integration. Clicking on the Tasks icon will open a floating to-do list populated with Google Tasks.

However, there are some limitations to the current code. For instance, users cannot check off sub-tasks nested under primary tasks, which can make it difficult to organize larger projects. Despite this, the development of the project is still in its early stages, and it's not clear when the feature will be available. Chromebook users can use the Tasks Android app to access Google Tasks in the meantime.

The integration of Google Tasks into ChromeOS's system tray is a promising development that will make it easier for users to manage their tasks and to-do lists on their desktop computers.
