Apple announces release of Final Cut Pro and Logic Pro for iPad, revolutionizing professional video and audio production on mobile devices

Awesome news for iPad owners! Apple has recently announced the release of Final Cut Pro and Logic Pro for iPad on May 23rd, providing users with a touch-friendly interface, Pencil and Magic Keyboard support, and other iPad-specific improvements. These apps are the iPad versions of Apple's renowned professional video editing and audio production software, with features and tools that cater specifically to the iPad's hardware capabilities. It is worth noting that while Final Cut Pro requires at least an M1-based iPad, Logic Pro will work with any A12-equipped iPad or newer.

The all-new touch interfaces allow users to enhance their workflows with the immediacy and intuitiveness of Multi-Touch. Final Cut Pro for iPad harnesses the power of Apple silicon and machine learning introduces a powerful set of tools for video creators to record, edit, finish, speed up time-consuming editing tasks, and share their work, all from the portable device. Among these features we'll find really cool things like Live Drawing to draw and write directly on top of video content using an Apple Pencil, the jog wheel which allows for quick navigation and editing, support for multi-camera, auto-adjusting soundtracks, a vast library of professional graphics, effects, and audio to enhance their storytelling, including stunning HDR backgrounds, customizable animated patterns, and professional soundtracks that automatically adjust to the length of a video, and this is of course exchangeable projects with its Mac equivalent. The latest iPad Pro models can also edit HDR video and record in the ProRes format with Pro camera mode, which brings even greater control to the creation process, allowing video creators to shoot high-quality video in portrait or landscape orientation, monitor audio and available recording time, and manually control settings like focus, exposure, and white balance.

Meanwhile, Logic Pro for iPad features a collection of instruments that users can play using virtual interfaces and interact naturally with controls thanks to Multi-Touch gestures, as well as navigate complex projects with pinch-to-zoom and swipe-to-scroll. There's also a deep mixer with channel strips, faders, and Plug-in Tiles that put the most useful controls at the creator’s fingertips, making it easy to quickly shape sounds. The built-in mics on iPad allow users to capture voice or instrument recordings, and with five studio-quality mics on iPad Pro, users can turn virtually any space into a recording studio. Creators can make precision edits and draw detailed track automation with the Apple Pencil, and connect a Smart Keyboard Folio or Magic Keyboard to utilize key commands that speed up production. There are over 100 powerful instruments and effects plug-ins, so you can shape the sonic qualities of your music however you like. Users can export music to Final Cut or as individual audio stems, and even import tracks from GarageBand for iOS.

As we mentioned, Final Cut Pro and Logic Pro for iPad will be available on the App Store as subscriptions starting Tuesday, May 23. The subscription-based apps offer options for $5 per month or $49 per year, with a one-month free trial. Unlike their Mac counterparts, Final Cut Pro and Logic Pro for iPad require a subscription, so it's definitely something to keep in mind if you plan to use them. These releases mark a major step forward for professional-grade software on mobile devices, and are expected to draw the attention of content creators looking to produce high-quality videos and music on the go.

This is sick! For a price Apple asks for an ipad it is just unfair ask monthly subscription from their users. They should give it free or one-payment! This sends bad example to all developers! I can't stand subscription as many others. Anyway iPad Pro is fail! Apple claims the iPad Pro is for a PRO user. It can replace a computer. Yeah, sure. It is powerful enough but it has iOS, the most crippled operating system. So the iPad is just a pricey toy. Nothing for a PRO user. It can not compete with macbook! Maybe as drawing tablet because Apple on purpose fails deliver convertible macbook. With every step Apple makes me think i will sell every apple product i own...
