Microsoft 365 Copilot Assistant to be Integrated with OneNote for Improved Note-Taking Experience

Microsoft is introducing its new AI assistant, Microsoft 365 Copilot, to OneNote to help users with note-taking. Copilot has the ability to draft plans, generate ideas, create lists, organize information, and more, all based on prompts. The AI assistant can rewrite, format, or summarize existing text in OneNote, and create plans for events or generate topics and talking points for meetings.

Copilot is currently being tested by a small number of Microsoft 365 enterprise customers in apps like Word and Outlook. The tech giant is heavily testing the AI assistant before rolling it out broadly, with no specific release date for Copilot in OneNote. Microsoft has yet to show off Copilot's inline integration in OneNote, but the feature is sure to pique the interest of users eagerly awaiting its release.

With Copilot integration, Microsoft is positioning both OneNote and the recently launched Microsoft Loop as clear alternatives to popular productivity apps like Notion, which also boasts integration with AI and similar features to those outlined by Microsoft. By leveraging the advanced capabilities of Copilot, Microsoft is seeking to provide users with a more efficient and productive way of taking notes, helping them to stay organized and focused on their work.
