Adobe's latest AI-Powered upgrade: Lightroom joins the party
Adobe Lightroom has recently introduced several new AI-powered features, including AI-enhanced denoise and additional AI mask categories, among others. With the AI-enhanced denoise feature, photographers can improve the quality of high-ISO RAW files without losing any details, thanks to machine learning algorithms. The feature was developed by a team that previously worked on Adobe's Raw Details and Super Resolution features, and it uses machine learning to demosaic and denoise images in a single step.
In addition to the denoise feature, Lightroom's new AI mask categories allow users to select people in photos based on clothing and facial hair, adding to existing categories like faces and animals. The adaptive presets for portraits also make use of the new masking features to adjust settings like exposure, contrast, and color based on the detected subject. Lightroom now includes 18 new travel presets, black and white video presets, and other small feature additions and workflow enhancements, expanding the range of creative options available to users.
Lastly, Lightroom's Content Credentials feature is now available as a tech preview in Lightroom for Mac and Windows, as well as Adobe Camera Raw. As part of Adobe's Content Authenticity Initiative, Content Credentials aim to help creators protect their work and provide verifiable attribution information.
