WingetUI 2.2.0 brings widgets support, PowerShell Gallery, enhanced export, and more
UniGetUI has rolled out its 2.2.0 update, offering a range of user-friendly enhancements. The update supports WingetUI Widgets, specifically tailored for the Windows Widgets pane, streamlining package updates installation. Users can now save installation details for packages, eliminating the need to reconfigure options for each installation or update.
Other updates includes an upgraded export functionality which now accommodates YAML and JSON formats, facilitating the saving of installation options with the package list, and exporting of ignored updates and skipped versions. There's also a new automatic backup feature for installed packages for improved data security and recovery.
The latest version also supports PowerShell Gallery, the 7th Package Manager, offering access to a repository of scripts, modules, and Desired State Configuration (DSC) resources. Package management has been upgraded to allow users to uninstall and then update packages, providing greater software management flexibility. Lastly, the source code of WingetUI has been made more modular, separating the interface from the Package Engine to some extent, paving the way for future interface enhancements.
