OpenMandriva Lx 5.0 is now powered by Linux Kernel 6.6 LTS, KDE Plasma 5.27, and more

OpenMandriva Lx, an independent distribution stemming directly from Mandriva Linux, has announced the release of its 5.0 version. This latest iteration is grounded on Linux Kernel 6.6 LTS, Mesa 23.3.0-rc4, Qt 5.15.11, KDE Frameworks 5.112, KDE Gear 23.08.3, KDE Plasma 5.27.9.1, and LibreOffice 7.6.3, among other contemporary open-source software.

Notably, this version represents the first fixed point release to amalgamate the / and /usr file systems, a significant development aside from the standard component updates. OpenMandriva Lx 5.0 also incorporates a multitude of software updates and security patches, further enhancing the robustness of the Linux distribution.
