Microsoft Loop is now available for business customers, along with many new features!
Microsoft Loop, Microsoft's note-taking platform alternative to Notion, is now generally available to commercial customers on web and mobile platforms, including iOS and Android. First introduced in 2021, the tool was initially released for public preview in March 2023, and now it's accessible to business customers through Microsoft 365 licenses, including E3, E5, Business Standard, and Business Premium Licenses, and can be downloaded from the Microsoft Store.
The tool introduces a feature called Workspace status, which is currently in private preview. This feature provides users with important updates about upcoming deadlines and status changes. Another feature, Work Descriptions, automatically surfaces project-related files and documents when a workspace is created. Microsoft Loop now also supports the AI-powered features from the Microsoft Copilot (Windows & 365) assistant that we have seen being integrated into other company products. This will help in some functions such as drafting text and summarizing pages, along with Microsoft Power Automate, which simplifies task tracking and project management by allowing users to create rules that trigger notifications for each change
By year-end, the platform will also integrate with Microsoft Teams, automatically creating a Loop workspace with relevant documents and notes after a meeting. In addition to the highlighted ones, there are many new features that make Microsoft Loop an increasingly robust alternative to Notion or Obsidian, so we recommend checking them out here. Lastly, it's worth noting that the consumer version of Loop on the web, released in public preview in March, continues to remain in public preview until now.
