Windows 11 issue that causes some apps to incorrectly render colors confirmed by Microsoft
Microsoft has confirmed that colors may not be rendered properly in image editing programs on Windows 11 for users with High Dynamic Range displays.
Windows 11 is still in its infancy, so it's bound to have bugs and other issues discovered more frequently than its more mature Windows 10 counterpart. This issue is described by Microsoft as the result of errors and unexpected information being returned by Win32 color-rendering application programming interfaces. The company states that it's most apparent with white colors that will typically incorrectly display as yellow.
Microsoft listed this issue under the 21H2 build of Windows 11, and it is currently working to resolve the issue. It estimates that a fix will be made available "in late January." This information is current as of December 24th.
