Twitter is introducing an even darker dark mode, initially rolling out for iOS
Twitter has released an update for its iPhone/iPad/iPod touch app that introduces a new "lights out" dark mode.
The tweet announcing this feature specified that it's rolling out starting today. The original dark mode, now renamed to "dim," can still be selected.
This new "lights out" mode completely turns off the pixels not used for text or formatting, which has the added benefit of reducing Twitter's battery usage on your iOS device of choice.
According to Twitter, the Android and web versions of the social network will get this new "lights out" dark mode "soon," with no further details given.
