WhatsApp four-person group video calling has launched

Group video calling is now available on one of the world's most popular messaging services.

Announced back in early May, popular messenger WhatsApp has launched support for group video calling of up to four people simultaneously.

In order to use the group video calling functionality, users should start a one-on-one video call and then tap the newly implemented "add participant" button in the upper right corner of their screen.

The WhatsApp blog post announcing the availability of the feature states that these group calls will always be encrypted end-to-end (similar to its Signal and Telegram contemporaries), and that the call functionality is designed to "work reliably around the world in different network conditions."

The feature is now available on WhatsApp for Android and iOS.
