Users will soon be able to uninstall more built-in Windows 10 apps
Though Windows 10 has received many updates, it has not allowed most pre-installed apps to be removed. That is starting to change with the latest preview build of the operating system.
Build 18262 of Windows 10 is adding the ability to uninstall 10 pre-installed apps for the first time. Previously, the following 7 built-in apps were the only ones that could be uninstalled:
- Microsoft Solitaire Collection
- My Office
- Microsoft Solitaire Collection
- Microsoft Print 3D
- Skype
- Microsoft Tips
- MSN Weather
The 10 apps that will now support uninstallation are the following:
- 3D Viewer (previously called Mixed Reality Viewer)
- Windows Calculator
- Calendar
- Groove Music
- Microsoft Mail and Calendar
- Movies & TV
- Paint 3D
- Snip&Sketch
- Microsoft Sticky Notes
- Windows Voice Recorder
Users will be able to uninstall these apps through both Settings and through the context menu on the All Apps list of the Windows 10 Start menu.
