This is a nice list for Windows. Personally for me, I deviated for some alternatives:

  • Total Commander -- Double Commander (Open Source)
  • Clementine -- Audacious
  • this is also Open Source but minimalistic and lighter on resources
  • LibreOffice-- OnlyOffice
  • also open source (kinda) but has better compatibility with M365 file formats
  • VLC Media Player-- MPV
  • also open source but veeerrryyy lightweight and minimalistic
  • Notepad++ -- Lite XL
  • Yes, Notepad++ is awesome, but I prefer the interface of Lite XL, which is also open source and extensible
  • LibreWolf -- Zen Browser
  • Also open source, but I'm' sold on the drag-and-drop split view

By the way, I'd put ShareX and Flameshot in the same category. If I had to choose, it would be ShareX.
