Since I am an owner of a Quest 3, I really like the kind of app, that let me use map data and panoramas to see the world in VR. So I will try to create a list containing as much of these apps as possible. Most of it will be either Meta Quest based apps or PCVR apps. A few Android Apps will be added too, if it is working on my Quest. And if it is missing here on AlternativeTo, I will add it too.
I will talk about games from now on, because the "usability" for this kind of app is most likely being a game. Also, I will add games I don't own / recommend. This will maybe be stated in the comment per game, maybe not.
The comment is my subjective feeling and opinion about the game! Don't take it as granted. If I have tried the game, maybe it was an older version. Maybe I haven't even tested the game.
For now, I will only add games that feature real world graphics, in one way or the other. All Google Earth provider games are no-brainers. Something like Brink Traveler too. But games like Astra, complete renderings, I am not adding.
True VR Games, either Standalone (Meta Quest) or PCVR.

Implements Google Earth VR feature complete with additional stuff. Flying around the globe and entering the earth from out of the space, down to the city, down to the street, enabling Street View. The movement, the flying, is the main feature in this game. In multiplayer, you may see other players in game-avatars.
Basic version without AI DLC recommended. AI is okay, especially for supporting the dev. The dev is very active on his Discord.
I own and love this game.

Either a social meeting with traveling a 2D map and enabling panorama view, or playing a round "Where in the Wooorld", a GeoGuesser-like game. You can move in the visible space a little and may see other avatars in multiplayer.
I own and love this game.

Using a 2D map on your hand to navigate directly trough Street View panoramas. Easy to use, nearly no movement. Very nice feature: Some palces offer the ability to timetravel and watch old Street View panoramas.
I own and love this game. Sadly the dev seems to have stoped development completly. On their page, they are hinting "Lost" as their second game "coming soon", but since 2018/19. But the last update to Wander was somewhere 2019-2022, at least what I can track down.

In this app the main feature is not the open world, instead you receive handpicked and "handcrafted" POIs, converted into a walkable 3D scanned environment. You get some information about the locations you visit.
I used this once, haven't owned it myself. But it is quite good. The whole 3D scanned environment makes it a bit more immersive. But also it is not as open as other travel games.

Another 3d scanned environment exploration game. I haven't played it myself.

Fly with simple controls on board of a quadrocopter-like drone trough a 3D map world. Similar to the one of Googel Earth (also provided by Google).
I have tested this before the "drone" update 1.0.0 (maybe). It felt more like a techdemo to me. The developer is more "known" for VZfit, fitness apps featuring 3D world data while running, cycling, ... It seems the app is activ in development.

Choose from a few preset citys / POIs and fly around in a 3D map world (provided by Google Earth).
I had my troubles with this game. First, you need to set the language of your device to English. Also it is quite basic in the presentation. Last time I tried, I wasn't able to load the map data anymore. Also this still receives sporadic updates.

Not tested myself. Iceland is available for purchase right now, Scotland is reworked.

Some Apps being able to installed by sideloading them. (Quest)

Not really fitting the travel, real life map data theme ... But still somehow related.
A series of interactive presentation (educational) apps, showing the impact of sea level rising in different locations. Series also includes VR-Videos only on their website.

More a collection of short documentations. Some in 2D, some in 360°. Since it is free, definitely try it out.

This is really more a game. From looking at videos, I am not sure if all locations are 1:1 modeled or not. But they add at least much from real world footage and seem to pack it into a game about travel and exploring.

A fitness game featuring social networking and challenges. Uses StreetView for its workout games.
Sadly, the trial is only the tutorial. For another trial, unlocking all features, you need to add credit card info.

I was told, this contains a GeoGuesser Mode ... But I have not tested it. Please comment if you used it.

If you are missing one game, you can send me the link and I can add it. Just write a comment. 👍
