Comments and Reviews
Zoom Player goes back to the early 2000's (I bought it in 2004), and it's been steadily updated ever since. However, I do hate its longtime "1 year free updates" scheme which is sooo 2000's... The player is still powerful and super modular, but it's quite smug in its pricing, acting like awesome free alternatives never happened.

miniature window - preview on the timeline is NOT working correctly - frame gap + CPU load;
NO speed up or slow down the playback speed of a (videographic or audiographic) file;
does NOT show the remaining time on the timeline;
text font is TERRIBLY small, especially in the «Settings» category, which makes it difficult to study the player and makes strain eyes, which negatively affects your eyesight. I did NOT find an option to change the font size.
Pluses: 1) opens WMV and TS files that cannot be played by PowerDVD players and the new Windows Media Player (there is an image, there is no sound);
easy to open, no braking, no delay, no unnecessary CPU load;
there is technology for viewing or listening to a corrupted (videographic or audiographic) file, like the «OLD man» - classic Windows Media Player from MicroSoft;
remembers the timestamp where the user stopped watching the last time and can start playing the file from that moment.
Version 8 has support for WinLIRC, and is easy to configure.

I absolutely swear by this application. It plays all formats i've ever thrown at it. It is more stable than VLC. It has exceptional configuration options, and videos just simply look better with this application. One of the few applications I use that I am comfortable paying for.
This video player is a gem.
The one thing I like about Zoom Player is that is has a lot of options to customize the UI and Mouse Control. VLC and Media Player Classic would be perfect substitutes for Zoom Player if the allowed better customizing - especially of the mouse wheel function. It's really sad, that they development of the free "Zoom Player Standard" version.
