I've been using Zero shell for almost a month now. Seriously there is not one day that this firewall does not stop amazing me!...
I am now creating a project with raspberry pi to have this installed ahead of my ISP router. I want added security to my home network. I really want to do proxy and snort L7 inspection. Really really amazing guys. I work as a Network security engineer and this firewall can really fail some actual Firewalls!!
I use it to manage user connections via a captive portal. Very lightweight, usefull and easy to use. The monitoring is very nice also. I recommend it to act as a complete router!

simple yet powerful...been using it for 2 years now :-)
Zeroshell is the best all-in-one solution that I've found so far for replacing two home routers with a more advanced solution. It has almost all the features I needed, and will run on old hardware. I evaluated other like Packetfence, PFSense, and Sophos but Zeroshell is by the easiest to use and most stable
zeroshell i have been using it for the past few days and appears to been a nice clean and robust' it was very easy to install on my old netbook with usb eth card and working very well.
Is a great tool, it was too easy to install and administer.
Hello!
I highly recommend this product. I use it as a firewall , web filter and VPN server . Has a lot of features like Load Balancing and Failover, Wireless Access Point, Captive Portal, QOS , LDAP, NIS and RADIUS authorization and more you can find here http://www.zeroshell.org. This solution does not require many resources and is very stable. I have around 100 computers in my network and it works very well . I also have a virtual machine with Zeroshell they use as a backup gateway if it falls.
Regards!
