What is xtra audio?

xtra.audio is a cloud-native radio automation and playout platform that runs entirely in the browser. It combines media library management, automated scheduling, live broadcasting, and multi-endpoint streaming in one unified interface — no downloads, no dedicated hardware required.

Teams can collaborate in real-time with a synchronized live studio featuring a three-channel audio mixer, cartwall, and microphone input. The planner system enables fully automated 24/7 programming through reusable sequences, a visual week planner, and auto-generated rotations.

Audio quality is handled by built-in EBU R128 loudness normalization, automatic silence trimming, and optional StereoTool integration for broadcast-grade processing. Stations can stream simultaneously to multiple endpoints via Icecast or SHOUTcast in MP3, AAC, or Opus.

The platform supports multiple station types — standard automation, relay for restreaming external sources, and stage for live-only broadcasting. External content can be imported automatically via HTTP, FTP, or RSS feeds.

Built for internet radio stations, community radio, retail and hospitality audio, fitness studios, and any use case that requires professional automated playout with flexible live control.
