InstantMind added Xmind as alternative to InstantMind- luislobo9b reviewed Xmind
Very good! In my opinion, it's the best free offline option. The best paid one that's 'offline-first' is EdrawMind, but when you don't need attachments or images, the free one is excellent!

Pay close to 100 USD to be able to search the mind maps? There are better free and open source alternatives that offer search without paying a dime: Freeplane, Freemind, etc.
I don't get a link in Android from my photo gallery to share photos w/Xmind like I do with GoogleKeep and Turtl
I think another software, ProcessOn, is better for me than Xmind because it is more comprehensive and also supports the functionality of visio
This software has changed my career and my life! I used Xmind's diverse structure to sort out my understanding of business, and I used Xmind's pitch mode to practice expressing ideas and presentations directly. Xmind eventually helped me get through the darkest stage of my career. By the way, I found out their community at Discord: https://discord.gg/R2PqmCVZcd
It can't open .mm files
XMind has in my opinion gone from fast/lightweight, to clunky and slow over the years. I also feel they degraded the user interface, making used features more hidden, and allocating much screen space to buttons leading to 'premium'- and rarely used features. I now run version 3.1.1, which has the old clean UI and seems to be the last version prior to memory usage skyrocketing.
Over the years I have tried to find alternatives, but the visual map-aesthetics of competitors don't sit well with me, possibly because I used XMind for so many years.
