It's always in a development state, but its looking quite good! Pros:

  • opens a lot of filetypes
  • themeable
  • has powerful plugins such as search with different search engines from within the editor itself
  • writen in python
  • lightweight
  • cross platform Cons:
  • might miss some features you want, because it's in a permanent state of development
  • some python dependencies need to be installed Conclusion:
  • overall, its way better than notepad or mousepad or pluma (just to give some examples) but it still misses some features you can find in notepad++ or kate or more advanced editors. That's why his developer has emphasized this is a "simple editor" ;-)
