- tvgoing1 reviewed Write!I been following the software sometimes and i can 100% say it's dead. You can see Write! history by the users comments below, they did offer a way to download a offline version without the server stuff but then started the subscription model. That is how it started and ended, it's no different from other office softwares it will just cover the whole entire screen until you exit. No apps or anything, just you typing out words until you leave the program.

Write has many good points – which are now nearly all superseded by what Typora offers.
Write used to be the best at what it did, and its bimonthly updates added a lot of value to the whole thing. But at some point, it got discontinued without notice when a lot of functions were still missing and others were wonky at best (Markdown support for instance).
Its WYSIWYG/Markdown mixup format though is noteworthy, but at the era of markdown, that's might not be what you are looking for.
I still rate it 4 stars because it was good while it lasted but since it got discontinued before coming to a finished state, you should definitely look for alternatives. (Such as Typora, which is free, takes the same minimalist approach, and proposes at least the same functionalities, minus the cloud integration.)
Great app. Best for win\mac writer. But no updates 8-10 months. Is project alive or not? I hope alive!
Look elsewhere: proprietary formats, cloud subscription woes, and poor support make this a bad purchase. I purchased the "lifetime" version. This initially seemed like a pretty decent application. I liked the interface, and moved to being using Write! as my primary application for writing long format documents. I injured my hand at one point, I discovered it would not work with the Dragon NaturallySpeaking software. I wrote support, and after a surprisingly long delay they gave me a surprisingly negative response. As a result, I moved away from using the tool. Before leaving, I wrote support to make sure there would be no reoccurring charges. They assured me there would not be. Recently, I found a charge on my credit card from "FastSpring" which I eventually traced to Write! After another surprisingly negative exchange, I contested the charges on my credit card and had them removed. As an afterthought I went to move my writing out of the application. Surprise: this has a proprietary format and the export function is tied into the cloud subscription. After some time in forums I was able to figure out how to recover my data. I would rather spend that time then interact with their unpleasant support again. In sum, this product cost me a surprising amount of time and money. Free alternatives with none of these problems exist. Seriously, look elsewhere.

nice and intuitive
I've kept up with Write!'s development for years, from way back when it was freemium.
Now the project seems abandoned. Last product update: May 8th 2018. Last blog post: March 7th 2018. Last twitter post: August 23rd 2018. I've e-mailed the devs today and will update my review accordingly in case they reply.
Their lack of updates aside, Write! is currently an unfinished product. Not to mention they offer cloud service but anyone not interested in hosting their personal information in Write!'s severs is out of luck -- it's there whether you trust Write! with your data or not. They have also removed their "feedback" section which truly makes me believe the project is dead and closed-off from any additional input and support.
Their tight control on your data, lack of updates as well as closed-sourced code makes me unable to recommend their product.
Here are some other Write! alternatives I use and recommend: Typora (free for now) Joplin (free and open source) Manuskript (free and open source).
I like it, but active development is missing ! So better get a free alternative
