While tricky to initially setup & has a god-awful ugly UI, it's great for saving time editing folder views on new PCs.

Install from the command line

  • winget install -e --id LesFerch.WinSetView

Be careful what you paste into a terminal. Check what a command installs before running it.

What is WinSetView?

WinSetView provides an easy way to set, change and manage the File Explorer default folder views or templates.

For example, if you want Details view with a particular selection of column headings across all folders, then WinSetView will do that for you.

You can always revert back to a previous state or set File Explorer back to Windows defaults. WinSetView is complete, easy and safe.
