A good program that got abandoned. That's too bad.
Winpatrol used to be a great program. I bought it many years ago and never regretted the purchase. It was my "go-to" program to discover information about files on my PC.
Sadly, it seems like Ruiware, LLC, the company behind WinPatrol and other assorted programs, is no longer active. I performed some extensive "digging" and found that all activity has ceased. This includes the software website, Facebook and Twitter, and it's been that way since mid 2017. Here is an extract from the Florida Department of State: Data last refreshed on Saturday, January 19, 2019.....

It really is a shame that the WinPatrol software wasn't on-sold and supported. I'd like to give it 5 stars but because it is "dead" I can only give it 1 star.
2023 and I use it all the time. Old with some old artifacts/abilities lost, but It's great as a quick fixup for things that heavier all-in-ones try to get you to pay for... Startup programs, Kill task, Delay Startups, View Hosts file, Service Settings, etc. ..and the little barking notification when a program tries to add itself to startup.. I find that particularly useful. Still, I find myself needing to use Autoruns to tweak the nitty gritty such as Services that WinPatrol doesn't disable.
WinPatrol is dead/abadonware.
