What is Wholphin?

Wholphin is an open-source Android TV client for Jellyfin, offering a unique user interface inspired by Plex. It is not a fork of the official client, with its interface and controls written from scratch. Wholphin supports ExoPlayer and MPV for media playback.

Features include a customizable home page, a navigation drawer for quick access to libraries, favorites, search, and settings, and integration with Jellyseerr for new movie and TV show discovery. Users can customize the layout grids for libraries, subtitle styles, and app color themes. It also offers PIN code protection for user profile switches.

Playback features include different media playback engines, Plex-inspired playback controls, Live TV & DVR support, auto play next episodes with pass out protection, and automatic refresh rate & resolution switching on supported displays. It also supports trickplay and subtly shows playback position along the bottom of the screen while seeking with D-Pad.
