What is WhisPaste?

WhisPaste is a free, open-source desktop dictation app for Windows, macOS and Linux. Press a global hotkey (push-to-talk or toggle), speak, and the transcript is pasted directly at your cursor in any application: email, chat, code editor, browser or document.

Transcription runs locally by default using whisper.cpp (OpenAI Whisper models) or NVIDIA Parakeet, so audio stays on your computer. GPU acceleration via CUDA and Vulkan is supported, with a CPU fallback for older hardware. Cloud providers (OpenAI, Deepgram) are optional and opt-in.
