What is WhatNextHoliday?

WhatNextHoliday shows the next public holiday and the full calendar for 206 countries and territories, for every year from 2026 to 2040, in 18 languages. A world map colours each country by how soon its next holiday is, the home page lists this week's holidays and upcoming long weekends (using each country's own weekend), and each country page has a countdown, a year-at-a-glance calendar, a bridge-day and long-weekend planner and a working-days calculator that counts business days and hours between two dates. More than 2,500 holiday articles explain each holiday, with its dates over the coming years.

Planning tools include a trip checker (which public holidays fall during your trip and what may be closed), a leave planner (how to get the most days off from your leave days) and a country comparison that puts two to four countries side by side, showing shared holidays and common working days. Tool results can be shared with a link.

Download any country's year as an .ics file for Apple Calendar, Outlook or iCal, add a single holiday to Google Calendar, or print a calendar or save it as a PDF. Free, no sign-up, with light and dark themes; the tools run in your browser.
