What is Waypoint Launcher?

Waypoint is a free, open-source launcher for macOS, Windows and Linux, in the spirit of Raycast. Press Option+Space (Alt+Space), type a few letters and press Enter.

One search box finds your apps, commands, notes and clipboard history. It also does sums as you type and converts units and currencies, using European Central Bank rates that are kept for offline use.

Features:

  • Clipboard history for text and images that skips anything password managers mark as private
  • A floating Notes window with unlimited notes, each stored as a plain Markdown file you can sync with Dropbox, iCloud Drive or git
  • Snippets that expand as you type in any app, and quicklinks with arguments
  • Window snapping: halves, thirds, quarters, next display and restore
  • A global shortcut or alias for any command
  • System commands: lock, sleep, restart, empty trash, eject disks and toggle Wi-Fi
  • 23 bundled extensions, including file search, disk usage, browser bookmarks, Keep Awake, DeepL translation, Open Ports, Docker, GitHub, Homebrew and media controls
  • Extensions written in JavaScript, each running in its own process, installable from npm or GitHub. Raycast script commands run unchanged
  • Light and dark mode with seven colour themes

Released under the MIT licence and built with Electron, React and TypeScript.
