What is Waslane?

Waslane connects an Android phone to a Mac or iPad over the local Wi-Fi network. It mirrors the phone screen with keyboard, mouse or touch control, transfers files in both directions by drag and drop, shows and answers SMS with the full conversation, mirrors notifications from any app with inline reply, shares the clipboard, and gives access to photos, contacts and battery status.

There is no server, no account and no telemetry. Devices discover each other via Bonjour, pair with a QR code and communicate over TLS 1.3 with mutual certificate authentication, so nothing leaves the local network. The Mac app is sandboxed and distributed through the Mac App Store; the iPad app shares the same purchase. The Android companion app is free on Google Play, with a direct APK available on the website.

Waslane is aimed at people who use a Mac or iPad with an Android phone and want the kind of continuity features Apple offers only for the iPhone and Microsoft's Phone Link offers only on Windows. Compared to KDE Connect it is a native, maintained macOS app rather than a nightly build; compared to AirDroid it works without a cloud account.

Requirements: macOS 14 or later, iPadOS 17 or later, Android 10 or later. Free 7-day trial, then a yearly or one-time lifetime purchase covering Mac and iPad. Developed by a solo developer in Germany.
