Volume Control: Quiet Dial

On many Android phones and tablets the lowest volume step is still too loud. That first step above mute is a fixed fraction of the device's maximum output, not a fixed loudness, so on a loud device it stays loud and there is no setting below it.

Quiet Dial adds the steps the device is missing. A small floating control applies attenuation below the hardware minimum through Android's own audio engine: seven steps, down to 30 dB under the floor. Turn it on from a Quick Settings tile, drag it anywhere on screen, tuck it to an edge, and close it with one tap. Your position is remembered.

It does not take over the volume buttons and does not replace the system volume panel. It sits on top as an overlay and does one thing.
