What is Voding?
Voding is a browser-based editor for Twitch VoDs, designed with editors in mind rather than streamers. It fetches the VoD and full chat log to cloud storage, providing a seamless editing experience. The tool then displays a chat-activity graph, which measures messages per second, allowing editors to locate highlights based on audience reactions rather than manual scrubbing.
Voding also offers the ability to search chat by word or emote, with support for 7TV, BTTV, and FFZ. Editors can bracket clips on the timeline for easy access and organization. In addition, it has the capability to render MP4s server-side, and produce chat overlays as transparent MOV files. These files are compatible with popular editing software such as DaVinci Resolve, Premiere, or Final Cut.
Voding supports the export of timelines as FCPXML. It also features a multistream mode, which aligns several VoDs by Twitch's recorded_at timestamp, facilitating collaborative or POV-swap edits. It's worth noting that the highlight detection feature is based on explicit chat-rate math, rather than AI.
Pricing for Voding is storage-based, starting from $6/month. However, a free tier is available, which allows users to render up to 10 chat overlays per day.
