UTAU vs VOCALOID opinions
I like UTAU as an alternative to Vocaloid because it's free.
Because the voicebanks have gasp emotion
No way to use English voices or even a keyboard set to English.
It has a truly absurd amount of voices available for use if you do even the slightest amount of googling, and can sound very good if used well. Additionally, while it may be intimidating at first, it isn't that hard to learn how to use it well.
its the free version of vocaloid.
it is not playing the sounds and the letters are corrupted when I go to certain windows
It's similar enough as to be easy-ish to get into when you have experience with vocal synths and you can make your own voicebanks! You do need a different program (e.g. FL Studio) to create decent USTs

Sinsy vs VOCALOID opinions
Voice synthesis in Sinsy is just as easy as in Vocaloid, despite having to create MusicXML file with MuseScore (which is also FOSS)

Alter/Ego is based on the award winning technology featured in chipspeech but instead of targeting Vintage voice technology, it focuses on more ‘modern’ (1990+) singing synthesis algorithms and research.
Alter/Ego vs VOCALOID opinions
Alter/Ego is great. its sad that you need a midi keyboard though. you can add english or japanese lyrics or use the sounds (like for duh something like D uH)
eCantorix is a singing synthesis frontend for espeak. It works by using espeak to generate raw speech samples, then adjusting their pitch and length and finally creating a LMMS project file referencing the samples in sync to the input file.

Cadencii vs VOCALOID opinions
Cadencii can synthesize. Its just hard to get it to.

Not written in the description that it can synthetise vocal, just it's compatible with Vocaloid voice banks.
Doesn't actually synthesize, it's just an importer.
