A really good alternative to Youtube Music with caching feature that automatically downloads music you listen and makes it available for listening offline. Fast and convenient.
What a fantastic application that works as a privacy-focused substitute for both YouTube Music and Spotify, though it feels more like it's targeting YouTube Music's audience specifically. Sure, it does give off Spotify vibes sometimes too. Of course, it's not perfect - you can't download tracks offline and stuff like that, but honestly, I've been telling pretty much everyone I know about it because it's just that impressive. If you haven't given it a shot yet, you really should check it out.
After discontinuing paying for YouTube Premium/YouTube Music for a few years, I forgot that the music would stop playing if lock my phone/shut the screen off. As long as you have no other demands other than simply have an ad-free, background playing YouTube music version, you will be happy.
Please note that it hasn't been updated since November 2022, but heck, it still works in late July 2024.
As far as I know, there is a fork of ViMusic named RiMusic, and it's still in active development as of me writing this comment.
This is an amazing app with an awesomely simple interface to listen to YouTube Music. You can select favourite artists, albums, tracks, and all the usual stuff.
Just be aware that it's not dedicated to download music (like NewPipe), but it gets buffered for offline listening.
Its an amazing app that can replace youtube music and spotify with privacy in mind, although, its more of an alternative to youtube music but at times, it does feel like an alternative to spotify. Its also has cons like no download for example, but mainly, its one app I would and have recommended to many because its really good and recommend you guys who haven't used it at all as well.
Pros : ✅ FOSS and private ✅ No account required ✅ Free YouTube Music version : ad-free, background playing. Also supports ad-free MP3 versions of YouTube content. ✅ Lyrics available for many songs, sometimes synchronized ✅ Playlists creation ✅ Numerous functions available: "favorites" tab, start radio, sleep timer, equalizer, link sharing... ✅ It's possible to import and export the database ✅ A beautiful and customizable interface ✅ Great possibilities with settings
Meh : ✅❌ No recommendation algorithm ✅❌ No cross-platform synchronization, since no account is created
Cons: ❌ No update since November 2022 ❌ Songs cannot be downloaded, and only the most recently played tracks are available for offline listening. (I personally have around 200 tracks available offline). ❌ Available only on Android
