Vim Classic information
What is Vim Classic?
Vim Classic is a fork of Vim 8.x for long-term maintenance, providing a stable, dependable editor — maintained entirely by humans.
Vim Classic is a fork of Vim 8.2 for long-term maintenance. Little new feature development is expected.
Maintenance policy
Upstream Vim patches between versions 8.2 and 9.0 are acceptable for consideration in Vim Classic provided that they are adapted to avoid the use of Vim 9 Script, which is not included in Vim Classic.
Original patches, fixing bugs or making reasonable changes to existing features, are welcome. Patches which assist with the maintenance of the runtime are especially welcome, for example, updating syntax files to account for new features in supported programming languages.
