What is Version Tracker?

Version Tracker checks 48 update sources in a single scan and shows every outdated app on your Mac in one list. It covers Homebrew formulae and casks, the Mac App Store, npm, pip, Cargo, Docker, Adobe Creative Cloud, Google, and every app shipping a Sparkle feed, reconciling each source against what is actually installed.

Most updaters only look inside /Applications, which is why they miss developer tools and package-managed software. Version Tracker also cross-references the CVE databases and Apple's SOFA feed to flag known vulnerabilities, and verifies code signature and notarization before installing anything.

The scan is fully local. Your list of installed apps never leaves your Mac: no telemetry, no account required.

The free tier scans all 48 sources with no time limit. Paid tiers add one-click updating and menu bar control, from 19,90 € per year or 49,90 € as a one-time purchase covering the 1.x line. Requires macOS 15 or later.
