What is Veilscripture AI?
Veilscripture is a paid Windows desktop application for private, local AI character roleplay. It combines a roleplay interface, automated language-model backend setup, character and world creation, long-term memory tools, group chat, text-to-speech, and story export in a single application.
Unlike cloud-based AI character services, Veilscripture runs the language model and stores conversations on the user’s own computer. It requires no cloud account or subscription, includes no telemetry or data collection, and encrypts saved chats at rest.
Veilscripture is designed for users who want local AI roleplay without manually assembling and configuring a separate inference backend. On first launch, it configures itself around the available hardware. It can run on systems with 16 GB of RAM and no dedicated GPU, while users with stronger hardware can choose larger and more capable local models. Advanced model and generation settings remain available for users who want greater control.
Roleplay features include persistent character memories, conversations that continue across sessions, multi-character group scenes, character-card creation, and Veil Atlas tools for building reusable settings and worlds. Characters, scenes, visual assets, and other creations can be shared through Steam Workshop.
Built-in text-to-speech can give characters voices, and completed conversations can be exported as text, PDF documents, or audiobook-style audio. Optional secure remote access allows users to continue a session from a phone or another device while the application and model remain hosted on their own computer.
Key characteristics:
- Runs locally and can operate fully offline

The current Steam release filters explicit sexual content in order to comply with Steam’s rules for AI-generated material. Flirtation and non-explicit intimacy are unaffected.
