Said about UltraStar Deluxe as an alternative
Stable, good documentation, big community and recently event further development. I use it on Linux together with PlayStation Singstar Microphones
It has the same features and is free (and open source!).

It is light and easy to install on Linux (Mint Mate 19). The only problem I had with this is there is no real included songs and it is difficult to find out where to put the Creative Commons list available at the GitHub account where you download the game.
For help: the Songs folder is in your Home folder in the .ultrastardx folder after you install it. The songs are here: https://github.com/UltraStar-Deluxe/songs And there is a forum where people have put the text together for popular songs, but it is your responsibility to acquire those MP3/MP4/avi/flv/ogg/whatever GREAT GAME if you put it together! Four stars for ease of install, lightness of program, and just pure fun! Took off the fifth star for no/few songs and very sparse documentation/manuals.
