Typewriter

Typewriter is a free, web-based writing editor built specifically for fiction authors.

Most writers are stuck in Google Docs (no chapters, no characters, just one long scroll) or paying $49 for Scrivener (desktop-only, no AI, last updated 2021). Typewriter fixes both.

What makes it different:

• Story Bible — 6 categories (characters, locations, plotlines, worldbuilding, timeline, notes) that update automatically as you write. No more spreadsheets.
• Character Tracking — Typewriter knows who appears in which chapter, what they look like, and flags contradictions. Brown eyes in chapter 3, blue eyes in chapter 27? Caught.
• AI Co-Author — Not a generic chatbot. An AI that reads your full manuscript, knows your characters, and writes in your voice. Optional — the editor works without it.
• Chapter Management — Sidebar binder with drag-to-reorder, word counts per chapter, status tracking (outline ? draft ? revision ? complete).
• Focus Mode — Typewriter scroll, paragraph dimming, ambient sounds, sprint timers, daily word count goals.
• Collaboration — Invite co-authors, editors, beta readers, proofreaders. Each gets role-based permissions.
• Export — Print-ready PDF (KDP/IngramSpark trim sizes), EPUB, DOCX. Typography controls included.
• 8 Content Types — Novel, poetry, screenplay, cookbook, children's book, comic, journal, textbook. Each with its own canvas.
• 8 Indian Languages — Write in Hindi, Punjabi, Bengali, Tamil, Telugu, Gujarati, Marathi, Urdu with built-in transliteration.
