What is TraceScope?

TraceScope is a free, open-source desktop application for investigating application logs, diagnostic output, and telemetry files on Windows and Linux.

Built with C++ and Qt, it supports importing logs from multiple formats, reusable import profiles, advanced filtering, timeline visualization, and deterministic analysis of warning, error, and event patterns. It also provides live file following, session comparison, annotations and findings, saved investigation workspaces, and CSV/HTML reporting.

TraceScope operates locally without requiring a server, cloud service, or centralized logging infrastructure. It is designed for software engineers, QA and validation teams, and technical support professionals working with log files from different systems or test runs.

Portable Windows and Linux AppImage packages are available. The software is licensed under GPL-3.0.
