Tonkatsu Box information
What is Tonkatsu Box?
Tonkatsu Box is a free, open-source collection manager for games, movies, TV shows, animation, anime, manga, visual novels, books, and audio. Unlike most trackers that focus on a single media type, Tonkatsu Box lets you combine everything in one app - create mixed collections, track progress, rate your favorites, and organize however you want. Run it on your desktop, your phone, or self-host it in a browser.
Key features:
- Mixed collections - games, movies, TV shows, animation, anime, manga, visual novels, books, audio, and custom items in the same list. Grid, list, table and board views, drag-and-drop order, bulk actions
- Search millions of titles from IGDB (games, all platforms including retro), TMDB (movies, TV, animation), TheTVDB (TV), TVmaze (air dates), AniList and Kitsu (anime, manga), MangaDex and MangaBaka (manga, light novels), VNDB (visual novels), OpenLibrary, Fantlab, Google Books, Hardcover and ComicVine (books, comics), MusicBrainz (albums), Podcast Index (podcasts)
- Self-hosting - one Docker container serves the app to every device on your network. Your phone and your laptop see the same library in the same second, and everything the server stores lives in one folder you can copy as a backup
- Offline-first - all data cached locally, works without internet after adding items
- Episode tracking for TV shows, animation and anime - seasons, stills, air dates, next unwatched a tap away
- Chapters and volumes for manga, pages for books, a listened-track checklist for albums
- Ratings (1-10), notes, author reviews, tags, start and finish dates, replays, time spent
- Statistics - episodes, chapters, pages and hours, a breakdown per media type, a month-by-month ribbon, best against worst, with a share card
- Genre cloud and recommendations built from your own library
- Tier lists and mood grids - rank and visualize your favorites, export as PNG
- Visual boards - drag-and-drop canvas with posters, notes, images, and connections
- Releases calendar and a wishlist
- Two themes - the original dark and the light Sakura
- Six interface languages - English, Russian, Simplified Chinese, Spanish, Brazilian Portuguese, French
- Import from Steam, Trakt.tv, Simkl, Kinorium, RetroAchievements, MyAnimeList, AniList, Hardcover, an IGDB list, or a JSON or CSV file
- Network sync - pull your library from another device on the same Wi-Fi, no cloud or account needed
- Flexible storage - keep your database and profiles in any folder
- Custom cover art via SteamGridDB
- Kodi integration, gamepad navigation, Discord Rich Presence
- Collection sharing - export as .xcoll or .xcollx and send to a friend
- No accounts, no ads, no subscriptions, no tracking
Available on Windows, Linux, macOS (experimental) and Android, or self-hosted in a browser. MIT license.
