What is ThinkCards?

ThinkCards is a free, open-source flashcard app for people who found Anki too cluttered and confusing. It keeps what matters, the proven FSRS algorithm that adapts to your memory for fewer daily reviews than traditional SM-2, and drops everything that gets in the way. No endless configuration, no add-ons, no manual. You just create a deck, add cards, and study.

It is clean and fast on any device. It works fully offline, syncs across your devices when you are back online, and installs as an app (PWA) on desktop and mobile.

Cards come in three simple types: basic, cloze deletion, and typing, with rich text and images. Organize them with decks and subdecks, and track your progress with streaks, retention stats, and review forecasts.

A standout feature is AI card generation: ThinkCards gives you ready-made prompts for ChatGPT, Gemini, Grok, or Claude. You paste the result back and it bulk-imports a whole set of cards in seconds. You bring your own AI, so it stays completely free.

Free, open-source, no ads, no premium paywall. If you tried Anki and quit because it felt like overkill, ThinkCards is the calmer alternative.
