What is TextTree?
TextTree is a local-first writing and thinking tool that brings folders, plain-text files, and ideas together in one workspace. It displays folders in a tree view and lets you open and edit multiple text files side by side, making it easy to review notes, compare information, and organize your writing.
Its ThinkTray diagram editor lets you arrange notes and ideas as cards for brainstorming, grouping, comparison, and visual organization. Cards can be created directly from selected text, edited together, styled with colors, and copied as a diagram image.
TextTree also lets you register frequently used folders, save reusable text and keywords for quick entry, and use different color themes to organize your work. Practical guides for methods such as KPT, PARA, the KJ Method, SWOT analysis, and PDCA are included.
No login or account is required. TextTree works with files stored locally on your computer and does not send your data to an external service.
